In 1952, lay theologian and children’s writer CS Lewis continued to expect the eternal world (some modern people think) a form of it. “希望是神学的美德……瞄准天堂,您将获得地球’in in in In in in of in of ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot ot to nor。
Since the beginning of Christianity, one should consider the idea of hope to be regarded as a virtue, rather than some kind of stupidity or self-indulgent emotion. It was Paul, the apostle of Jesus, who first stated that in his letter to 1 Corinthians, that hoped writing was a lasting virtue. The medieval theologian St Thomas Aquinas described it as “the future, difficult to achieve… through divine aid…”.
Hope also represents the core message of Easter: the resurrection of Jesus Christ – the victory of death – shows Christians that even in the darkest times, light will suddenly appear, and a new starting point, even miracles are possible. In Islam and Judaism, it is also taught as a virtue.
However, in our secular modern society, hopeful people are rarely called virtuous people. They are more likely to be called stupid – cynical and pessimistic people tend to be seen as signs of wisdom and secularity while expressing any positive vision for the future is seen as naive, or worse, complacency.
But there are some promising reasons, not only because things – at least some things – that may end up with it. No, I hope it will be good for us both psychologically and psychologically physiological Level: Studies have repeatedly linked greater hope to lower risks of cancer, chronic diseases and all-cause mortality.
I’m using the word “behavior” here on purpose. Hope is often confused with optimism, but there are some important differences between the two, as Edward Brooks, executive director of the Oxford Role Project, is writing a book on the subject. “Optimism is the expectation for a positive future,” he said. “Hope is the habit of focusing action and focus on a good future, which is good but difficult but difficult to achieve.”
In other words, optimism – while it brings its own health and well-being benefits and tends to be more dynamic than pessimism when used in messaging – is a more passive thing. Some people seem to be born with others. Hope it is one choose Focus on certain future possibilities, no matter how faint, and crucially involve individual and collective agents. Hopefully believe that we can take action to make the future we expect more likely.
Discussions about indoctrinating hope will soon become vigorous. But it only takes a transatlantic search for concrete evidence that the hopeful information can be very powerful politically. Back in 2008, Barack Obama – published a book two years ago. Boldness of Hope: Ideas about recycling the American Dream – Behind a hopeful slogan voted for the White House: “Yes, we can.”
However, despite the hope that it is possible to become a concept of “progressiveism,” Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” campaign offers a positive vision for this time, a campaign of Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again”—whether the vision may be wrong. Instead, Democrats focused on victim narratives rather than empowerment, rather than attacking Trump rather than proposing another positive vision, paving the way for his return.
The importance of politicians who convey hope is a common phenomenon: a huge phenomenon Gallup Research This year, the four core needs people mentioned are related to their leaders, and hope is the most important – far ahead of trust, compassion and stability. Another Gallup study It was found that 69% of employees strongly agreed that their leaders made them “passionate about the future”, while only 1% disagreed.
Of course, by putting so much energy into the risk of positives, you turn a blind eye to the risk of things – Trump’s “Liberation Day” is a great example. But hope does not have to be complacent: we should consider the average between assumption and desperate sin like Aristotle.
Hope is, as American poet Emily Dickinson wrote so beautifully, “feathers, things that perch in the soul.” We must cultivate and protect this subtle thing. After all, I hope to save you.
