Two migrant workers from Telangana were stabbed to death in Dubai

Nizamabad of Hyderabad: Two workers from Nirmal, Astapu Premsagar from Nirmal and Sargam Srinivas from Dharmapuri, Jagtial area, were reportedly stabbed to death by Pakistani nationals during the quarrel in the WAKF Amendment.

Two other workers from Telangana were injured in the incident last Friday and were injured later Tuesday.

The defendant and victim are employees of Dubai Modern Bakery. Degam Sagar of Jandagally was injured in Armoor town in Nizamabad area and is recovering in the hospital.

Work pressure combined with public hatred has reportedly led to conflict. Most of the workers at the plant belong to Telangana, while the others come from Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Bakery managers reportedly kept the incident confidential and warned migrant workers not to disclose the incident. However, news about the incident was leaked.

Dubai police detained unidentified assailants and four other Pakistani nationals. The family of the victim Premsagar said they received a call from his colleagues in Dubai. They said: “He (Premsagar) tried to get rid of the knife’s attack, but fell on the floor. The Pakistani nation stabbed him incomparably.”

Premsagar and Srinivas died while under treatment at a Dubai hospital. The conditions of the injured are stable. The family of Armoor resident Sagar said he went to Dubai eight years ago. “We received a call from Dubai. There is no danger in Sagar.” A family member told Deccan Chronicle.

Nirmal MLA Alleti Maheshwar Reddy wrote a letter to Telangana Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari who contacted the Indian Consulate in Dubai to speed up the process of repatriating the bodies of Premsagar and Srinivas to India.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and Secretary of State Bandi Sanjay said they spoke with Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and asked him to ensure that the dead body was sent home soon.
