Popular bar bans after 7pm on weekends, drug addicts show

A bar has immediately banned all children under the age of 25 on the weekend, blaming the controversial changes on irreverent drug youth.

Mason Weapons, located in Kaffili, South Wales, called for final orders to young customers on Friday and Saturday at 6.30pm and insisted that they must drink before the latest time and leave the venue by 7pm.

The community-centric business describes itself as having a “family vibe” and has a 3.5 Star TripAdvisor rating, he said it has changed the rules due to the “lack of respect” shown by younger clients and the recent increase in drug issues.

A statement said: “As a bar, we try to do our best for the community, we have many sports teams and sponsor many young people to participate in the sports of their choice.

“We try to do as many fundraising activities as possible and always have the interests of our clients first.

“The bar is changing how it runs on Friday and Saturday nights, and the minority is destroying the rest of yours.

“Respect for the bar and its customers is achieved.

After 7pm on Friday and Saturday, the bar will not allow people under the age of 25.

“If you before this, your last cup will be offered at 6.30.

“Anyone who is caught or suspected of using any type of drug will be banned and anyone who refuses to search will be banned.

“The medication or lack of respect for older bar customers will not be tolerated.”

The post has been shared nearly 200 times and is different from the reactions of locals, an unhappy Facebook user said: “So kicking out troublemakers, not everyone who happens to have protected characteristics.”

Another commenter doubted the legitimacy of the new change, warning: “Be careful with this because I’m not sure you can do it legally.”

Another added: “This could become a serious reputation and legal issue – especially if the policy is seen as a minority action punishing the entire group.”

One local acknowledged the bar’s difficulties in managing the growing challenges, and even suggested that the venue hire bouncers to “stop those who cause trouble.”

However, other commenters seem to be more supportive of the new restrictions, one of whom praised the bar’s firmness and said: “Good done. More bars need attitudes toward drugs.”

Meanwhile, another delight was that the locals added: “It’s good for you and hope they have respect.”
