Patients and visitors from Tiruchi, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) expressed their concern about insufficient traffic at the entrance of the hospital.
MGMGH averages more than 3,000 steps per day. Patients from rural Tiruchi and surrounding areas including Perambalur, Ariyalur and Karur come to the hospital for medical treatment.
A portion of the tourists, most of whom are families and relatives of patients admitted to MGMGH, stayed at Tiruchi during treatment. Therefore, the hospital continues to see tourists entering and leaving the place.
However, patients and visitors expressed concern about the mechanism of poor traffic.
Due to insufficient traffic along the EVR road, the road in front of MGMGH was blocked by traffic. Vehicles, including government buses from Bharathidasan Salai and Saravanan Major Road, often block ambulances along the road.
“I go to the other end of the road to get free food distributed every day. It is very dangerous for the public to navigate in extensions when traffic signals do not work, and the vehicles do not express any consideration to pedestrians. With this in mind, effective traffic supervision arrangements should be made immediately and vehicles should be made immediately.”
“Because many pedestrians cross the road without any safety measures, overhead traffic signals need to be repaired,” said road safety activist P. Ayyarappan.
A senior police officer told Hindu A flasher with plan to replace overhead. For the safety of pedestrians, other traffic police will be sent here.
