KKR vs LSG conflict moved from Kolkata to Guwahati on April 6, which is why

The President of the Bangladesh Cricket Association announced that the Kolkata Cavaliers will move to Guwahati in the 6th April against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 just saw its first arrangement change. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) should host Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Eden, Kolkata, but now the race will be held in Guwahati. This is the initial date of the game, given the Ram Navami celebrations held in Kolkata on April 6.

CAB President Snehasish Ganguly said Kolkata police were worried about winning the game due to the ongoing festival. There are 20,000 parade teams in West Bengal, ensuring the safety of the competition and celebrations is difficult.

As a result, the taxi contacted the Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) to explore options for rescheduling the game. Unfortunately, since Kolkata did not have a suitable replacement date, it was decided to move the game to Guwahati.

Ganguly told PTI: “We have notified BCCI to reschedule the game, but there is no scope for reschedule the game later, and I now hear that it will be transferred to Guwahati.”

The recent decision to reschedule an IPL match in Kolkata was not the first due to security issues related to the Ram Navami Festival. In 2024, when the match between KKR and Rajasthan Royals has to move similar situations for the same reason.

Looking ahead, the highly anticipated IPL 2025 will begin on March 22, with an exciting opening race with Kolkata riders riding Royal Challenger Bengaluru at Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane at the helm, KKR is eager to start their season in a high-profile manner in front of their enthusiastic family supporters. On the other hand, the RCB is ready to get rid of past disappointments and make bold statements from the outset. This year, Rajat Patidar will lead Royal Challenger Bengaluru, and fans can’t wait to see the team perform in the upcoming season.
