The body of a man and his two children was found in the Visvesvaraya canal in the range of the KRS police station in Mandia district, Karnataka.

According to police, the victim was Kumaraswamy, 38, a native of KR Nagar in Bengaluru, with his two 3 and 8-year-old children.

Police said Mr. Kumaraswami and his two children reportedly called his family at KR Nagar on April 17 to inform them that they would visit KRS Reservoir and would soon arrive at their hometown. “The kids talk to their grandfather, too,” said a police officer.

But later, when they showed no signs, worried family went to the police to report their disappearance. On April 19, a complaint was filed at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station in rural Bangalore.

It is believed that the three-person car surfaced when it descended on April 29. Rescuers found three bodies when the car was evacuated.

Police suspect the car may have hit a rock on the road and fell into the canal. A police officer suspected the driver had lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to fall into the canal, and the front of the vehicle appeared to be damaged.

The case has been registered with the KRS Police Department.

The incident is expected to spark another debate on the absence of security barriers around the Vesveswalaya Canal passing by the road in the Mandia district. The vehicle involved was killed in the misfortune of driving into the canal in different parts of the region.

The Commission of Officials composed of the Mandia Regional Government recommends building safety barriers along canals, lakes and other bodies of water and installing warning signs on the roads.
