Prosecutors said they kidnapped the couple and fled after the crime when they returned home from a temple on the hill, about 20 kilometers from the district headquarters.
The defendant was convicted in different parts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Article 70 (Gangrape). When six of them raped the woman, two others helped them commit a crime.
Police earlier said the victim was in the age group of 19 to 20 and studied at a university when the incident occurred.
