During an outing in October 2022, eight men were sentenced to life imprisonment until death for raping a newly married woman in Madhya Pradesh court.

According to the prosecution, the criminal kidnapped the newlyweds, and six of them raped the woman in front of her husband. The criminal who was drinking during the crime took turns to rape the woman. The incident occurred on October 21, 2024 in an area within the scope of the Gudh Police Department.
Prosecutors said they kidnapped the couple and fled after the crime when they returned home from a temple on the hill, about 20 kilometers from the district headquarters.
The defendant was convicted in different parts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Article 70 (Gangrape). When six of them raped the woman, two others helped them commit a crime.
Police earlier said the victim was in the age group of 19 to 20 and studied at a university when the incident occurred.
