In addition to emergency services, traffic flow will be limited as Hyderabad will temporarily stop at night (4 to 4.30 pm) on Wednesday (7 May 2025) to conduct a large-scale civil defense simulation training simulated aerial strike.

“During the siren call, ambulances and other emergency services will be limited to several minutes of traffic movement in the identified area will be subject to green access. Emergency response vehicles will be deployed as part of the exercise. Temporary power outages, air strike siren and speaker announcements will mimic the officers of Hyderabad Procage.”

The exercise will be limited to four strategic locations (ORR) within the scope of the four strategic locations (ORR) of the Secunderabad Cantonment, Golconda Cantonment, Kanchan Bagh and Nacharam. The simulation will be organized by the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) and Telangana National Disaster Response and Fire Services and will involve coordinated participation of state police, armed forces, fire departments, health teams and civic agencies.

The exercise will be conducted in the context of aggravated security issues following a retaliation strike in India on May 7. This is a response to the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, where Indian soldiers were killed and Indian armed forces conducted a precise strike in Operation Sindoor, an operation against nine terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-Pakistan-Cashmir.

Although prior alerts have been issued, authorities have urged residents not to panic. People in the affected areas are expected to follow the instructions of the exercise team and work fully together.
