Hydraa takes back Kandikar's government land

Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency forces removed unauthorized buildings from government land in Kandikal Village, Bandlaguda Mandal on Wednesday.

The land purchased under the Urban Land (Ceilings and Regulations) Act of 1976 was 2500 square yards and was encroached by two persons Syed Basheeruddin and Syed Hameedullah Hussaini.

Although their attempts to formalize the land by their name did not succeed, they built sheds and rooms on the land. A statement by Hydraa follows a recent legal battle, the High Court has given orders in favor of the government.

Hydraa officials conducted a field inspection of ownership before taking action, verifying ownership details, according to the tax bureau’s request. Four rooms and tin sheds, four shops have been removed and signboards have been installed to indicate that it is government land.

Mild tensions prevailed when local politicians arrived to support the occupiers and tried to stop the demolition. The statement said the situation was derived from the intervention of local police.
