Hydraa wins legal battle to reclaim Bathukamma Kunta

Hyderabad: Hydraa said on Tuesday, the city’s civil court upheld the agency’s claim in the Bathukamma Kunta case and dismissed a lawsuit filed by BRS leader Yedla Sudhakar Reddy, claiming ownership of the lake.
Hydraa said in a press release that the verdict was filed after a detailed trial lasted nearly a month. Reddy claims that Bathukamma Kunta is not a lake and that he owns the land.
The press release noted that City Civil Court Judge M. Venkateswara Rao dismissed the original lawsuit after examining income records, satellite images, rural maps and maps of India, cleared the way for the agency to rejuvenate the lakes.
Hydraa Commissioner Av Ranganath welcomes the dismissal. He congratulated the legal team, including resident lawyer K. Anil Kumar, S. Srinivas and B. Ajay, government advocate B. Janardhan, Hydraa’s legal inspector Mohan and Srinivas, the agency’s legal counsel.
