PM Modi & Elon Musk Talk Tech Partnership

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked with Elon Musk, senior adviser to the U.S. Department of Efficiency (DOGE) on Friday about bilateral technical cooperation between India and the United States and related issues.

“I talked to @Elonmusk and talked about various issues, including topics we covered at the Washington, D.C. conference earlier this year. We discussed the huge potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to promoting our partners with our partnerships with these areas.” The government said in a statement that Modi and Musk had a “constructive dialogue”.

The conversation covers a range of issues of mutual interest. “The discussion revisited the topics they covered during their meeting in Washington, D.C. earlier this year, highlighting a shared vision for technological advancement,” the statement said.
The Prime Minister stressed the enormous potential of cooperation between India and the United States in the fields of technology and innovation. “He reaffirmed India’s strong commitment to establishing partnerships in these areas,” the statement said.

Prime Minister Modi met with Musk during his visit to the United States in February 2025, and the two discussed technical cooperation issues. Starlink, a satellite internet provider owned by Musk, is reportedly exploring the prospect of investing and establishing operations in India. His car company Tesla is also expected to launch its models in India.


Several top officials from the Donald Trump administration have visited India over the past few weeks. Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha will officially visit India next week.
