Vizhinjam International Seaport, an all-weather port that is expected to become a key hub for Indian maritime transshipment, will write a new history in the Annals of India’s Marine Trade on Friday (2 May 2025).

Vizhinjam Seaport, the country’s first semi-automated port, positioning itself as one of the most technologically sophisticated transshipment ports in the world, reduces ship turnover time and enhances India’s ability to handle large container ships.

The port is also expected to reduce the country's dependence on other international ports.
