IAS officials who conduct extensive inspections of Hyderabad restaurants are now GHMC specialists

The gastric discomfortability of various restaurants and food stores in Hyderabad and other areas of Telangana continues and extensive discussions continue. IAS official Karnan conducted extensive cheques that were widely publicized and transferred to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He was one of several IAS officials who were reorganized in the state on Sunday (April 27, 2025).

Mr. Karnan is a specialist in the National Food Safety Department, which belongs to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He is also the director of the latter. From January to November 2024, the Food Safety Department conducted 4,652 inspections in high-end bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, e-commerce dark shops and other institutions in Hyderabad. The department regularly publishes details of detected checks and violations on its X handle.

Now he has been appointed as a commissioner for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). In addition to urban planning, urban biodiversity, property taxes, entomology wings, etc., the company also has a food safety department.
