Rajesh Khanna has had several box office hits with Mumtaz, saying if the late actor will still be alive if he wants to be with Anju Mahendru and not marry Dimple Kapadia.

Rajesh Khanna stayed with actress Anju Mahendru for seven years until in March 1973 when he suddenly married Dimple Kapadia, even Rishi Kapoor opposite her premiere film Bobby was released in September of that year. At the time of marriage, Rajesh was 31 years old, while Dimple was only 15 years old. Khanna’s co-star Mumtaz, who has played several box office hits with him, failed to get a relationship with Anju in his latest interview with the late actor and his marriage to Anju. Mumtaz even went on to point out that if Rajesh Khanna will still be with Anju Mahendru and will not marry Dimple Kapadia, he will still be alive today.
When talking to Vickey Lalwani, when Mumtaz was asked about her once dating Khanna, she said, “I wish I had interacted with him, but I was not. I missed the boat. Mumtaz said of the doomed romance of Rajesh and Anju, “Anju is a very good owner.” When I get married, my husband and I go to their house and they will be as generous as the master. Still alive, he lived with Anzhu. She is a great person, but you can’t escape fate. ”
The Ram Aur Shyam actress also shared Anju’s reaction when she learned about Rajesh’s wedding with Dimple. “I asked her and she said, ‘I don’t know. I was at a party and next I know he decided to get married.” She is a proud woman and she is glad her boyfriend has been so many years and she doesn’t want her to get hurt.
Anju Mahendra briefly got engaged to legendary West Indies cricketer Gary Sobers. After Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia’s marriage, she began dating actor Imtiaz Khan, but broke up with him seven years later. An Zhu never got married in his life.
