If there is no fast-forward progress, the US’s Moors will give up Ukraine – Russia’s peace effort | World News

Russia-Ukraine Negotiations: As Russia and Ukraine continue to engage in armed conflict and missile attacks, the United States is now considering abandoning its efforts to engage in a peace agreement between the two countries. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Friday that if there is no tangible progress, the United States could consider taking a step back and reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

Speaking in Paris after a full day of high-level negotiations involving us, Ukraine and European leaders, Rubio described the discussion as a productive discussion and said they helped develop a preliminary framework for moving towards a solution. However, he highlighted the need for momentum in the coming days to maintain diplomatic efforts.

“We haven’t reached the point where we need to decide whether it is possible,” Rubio said.

French officials said new meetings are expected in the same format in the coming days. Rubio said he could join the conference, expected early this week. After weeks of efforts by the Trump administration to facilitate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, Rubio said the U.S. government hopes to decide in the coming weeks “whether it is feasible within a few days.”

Since President Donald Trump’s inauguration, France held high-level talks on Thursday to discuss Ukraine and its security, and it is well known that top Americans, Ukrainians and European officials met together to discuss the end of the war. The meeting began as Europe’s concerns over Trump’s desire to approach Russia grew.

Rubio and Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff helped us lead the efforts to seek peace. Several rounds of negotiations were held in Saudi Arabia. Rubio said Vikov had met Putin three times.

Moscow effectively refused to accept a full-scale ceasefire promoted by Trump, which Ukraine recognized. Russia restricted it to Ukraine’s mobilization efforts and Western arms supply, a request Ukraine refused. (with PTI input)
