ESRI India is bundled with the Navavishkar I-Hub Foundation (IITTNIF) of IIT-Tirupati to establish the centre with the aim of promoting geospatial education, research and industry applications, which strengthens India’s position as a global leader in GIS Innovation.
The center will provide students, researchers and startups with access to advanced GIS tools, training modules and real-world applications. The collaboration aims to promote breakthrough developments in land management, urban planning, transportation and drone-based geospatial analysis.
Professor Karandikar stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between academia and the industry in establishing a skilled geospatial workforce in the country. “A move like this can not only provide students with the right skills, but it can also help them acquire space intelligence and develop solutions to solve the challenges facing the country”.
Professor Satyanarayana, Director of IIT-T, is pleased with the opportunity to work with India. “Our goal is to develop a generation of skilled geospatial experts to drive technological and economic progress,” he said on average.
