Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner K. Ilambarithi directed officials to draft a plan to prevent flooding in heavy rain. On Friday, he inspected the areas affected by the flood. Locals told the commissioner that water and dirt entered their houses due to the soil dumped in the HMDA layout. The Commissioner directed the officer to remove the soil.
Engineering officials explained that floodwater from Banjara Lake and Lotus Pond flowed to Hakimpet and into Balkam Lake.
