Illegal crew members removed from old Marredally 2BHK colony

Hyderabad:Residents who illegally occupied 50 residential units in the old 2bhk dignity housing colony in the Sek Delabad State Assembly constituency were evacuated on Monday. Officials from the Revenue Department and GHMC evacuated the house with the assistance of police.
The colony includes 468 houses, of which 268 have been occupied by beneficiaries since 2022. The remaining 200 houses have not been allocated, and there are no lots or distribution letters issued for these units.
In an ongoing investigation to identify homes for qualified beneficiaries, officials determined that unauthorized residents occupied more than 50 homes. Some even locked in the house, trying to claim ownership. Officials began locking the houses Saturday night. By Monday, officials had restored control of the properties and restored them to state ownership.
SC, ST panel meets Rachakonda CP
Hyderabad: TELANGANA State University SC, St Commission held a review meeting at the Rachakonda Police Department on Monday. Committee Chairman Bakkani Venkataiah highlighted the situation of the case in SC, ST (Abuse Prevention), emphasizing that law enforcement must speed up investigations to speed up legal proceedings for affected victims. He noted that the delay in resolving the case was shocking and directed police officers to give priority to the investigation under the bill.
Venkataiah stressed that law enforcement needs to take a positive attitude to protect the rights of the SC, ST community and prevent future events through strict action. Rachakonda Police Chief Sudheer Babu assured the committee that all cases related to the atrocities have been thoroughly investigated and that police are working to secure a conviction. Committee members Kusram Neeladevi and Konkati Lakshminarayana, regional collectors Vijayender Reddy, Malkajgiri DCP Padmaja, LB Nagar DCP Praveen Kumar and Crime DCP Aravind Babu also attended the meeting.
