Will Muhammad Yunus ask China to build an air force base in Bangladesh near Bangladesh? How will it make the Northeast vulnerable?

The proposed Chinese air force base could undermine current security arrangements and give Beijing the upper hand because the Larmonielt region is located near the Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar regions of India’s West Bengal.

Did Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser to the Bangladesh Interim Government, discuss the construction of a Chinese air base in the Lalmonirhat district during his meeting with President Xi Jinping?
How does the proposed air base challenge India’s security and change the geopolitics of Southeast Asia?
Did Muhammad Yunus discuss Chinese air bases?
If media reports can be trusted, India’s security agencies are upset by the development. It is believed that the question was raised in negotiations between the Nobel Prize winners and the Chinese authorities.
The proposed Chinese air force base could undermine current security arrangements and give Beijing the upper hand because the Larmonielt region is located near the Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar regions of India’s West Bengal.
Where can Bangladesh build air force bases?
Lalmonirhat is located in the Rambur Division of Bangladesh, now a discontinued World War II air force base.
The town is only 178 km from Chicken Neck or Siliguri Corridor. The corridor sandwiched within 22 km of Nepal and Bangladesh is the only link connecting the Northeast state to the rest of India.
Muhammad Yunus unnecessarily thorned the feathers during his visit to China, saying that Bangladesh is the guardian of the region’s oceans as the seven northeastern countries are inland.
“The seven states of India, eastern India, are called the Seven Sisters… They are landlocked countries, inland areas of India. They have no access to the oceans,” he said.

The chief consultant elaborated on the benefits of doing business in Bangladesh, saying: “We are the only marine guardians in the region. So this opens up huge possibilities. So this could be an extension of China’s economy. Build things, produce things, markets, bring things to China, bring them all over the world.”
An unhappy Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar reminded Dhaka at the Bimstec summit in Bangkok that India has the largest ocean in the Indian Ocean.
Analysts believe any access to China near the chicken neck could make the entire Northeast, Sikkim and West Bengal very vulnerable, although so far no Chinese Air Force fighters are stationed in the eastern community.
Bangladesh – Pakistan Bondmi
Bangladesh also set a wake-up call by announcing a high-level Pakistan delegation to visit Dhaka soon.
Although Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq DAR plans to visit Bangladesh from April 24, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Amna Baloch is expected to land in Dhaka on April 17. This will be the first ministerial visit to Dhaka from Pakistan in the past 13 years.
In 1971, with the help of India, Bangladesh was independent from Pakistan. Thousands of citizens were killed, thousands of women were raped, and almost ten million people were homeless in the war.
