IMD issues Heatwave Alert … Maximum temperature rises to…

The department said the heat wave is expected to hit Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan from April 24 to 28, while central India is expected to rise by 2-3 degrees in the next few days, with little significant changes since then.

A severe heat wave swept northwestern India, with temperatures soaring above 40°C in Delhi NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alarm in Delhi, predicting a maximum temperature of 40°C, at least 22°C, with strong sunshine expected throughout the day. Hot winds will continue in these areas, pointing out that relief is unlikely to be available in northern India at present. Some regions may experience limited mitigation due to Western interference, but their impact will be limited.

The department said the heat wave is expected to hit Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan from April 24 to 28, while central India is expected to rise by 2-3 degrees in the next few days, with little significant changes since then. It predicts clear skies on April 25 and then sends out a heat wave alert in the second half of the week. Strong ground winds are expected from April 23 to 24, and heat wave conditions in Delhi may prevail in the coming days.

On the other hand, Delhi’s air quality turned on Wednesday morning with an AQI of 217 of 217, but the average AQI of 24 hours showed some improvement in the Delhi NCR. The average AQI in Delhi is 227, while neighboring cities perform slightly better: Gurugram’s AQI improved to 117 (moderate), Noida’s is 144, Greater Noida’s AQI was 169, and Ghaziabad fell to 206 (bad).

Meanwhile, IMD issued warnings about thunderstorms, lightning and storms over the next seven days. Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh are expected to hold heavy rains over the next four days, with similar conditions expected in Nagaran and Mizoram. Additionally, the coastal areas of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu may experience moderate rainfall and lightning in the next 7 days.
