IMD warns of thunderstorms and temperature rise

Hyderabad: On Monday afternoon, Hyderabad and neighboring areas witnessed light showers, providing a brief breath from the ongoing heat. The isolated hailstorm in several areas including Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jangaon, Khammam, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mulugu and Suryapet reportedly caused damage.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the highest temperature is expected to rise in the next two days. A yellow alarm has been issued to isolate rainfall in various parts of the state.

Thunderstorms were accompanied by lightning and gusts accompanied by 40 km/h winds in Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Khammam, Nalgonda, Nalgonda, Warangal, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Hanamkonda and Nagarkurnool Districts on Monday. IMD forecasts Tuesday in Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Khammam, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Vikarabad and Vikarabad.

Over the next two days, Hyderabad may see partially cloudy skies in the evening or at night, or there may be rain or lightning strikers. The temperature may rise slightly, with maximum and minimum readings around 38°C and 25°C, respectively, and sustained southwest winds at moderate speeds.

Meanwhile, heat wave conditions may intensify, especially in the northern Telangana region, where temperatures range from 41°C to 44°C over the next five days. IMD has issued a warning of extreme heat in these areas. Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam also recorded an increase in temperature on Monday.
