In 2025-26, there are no tariffs on power-ups in Odisha; rebates continue to be paid

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) announced on Monday that electricity prices will not increase in fiscal year 2025-26.
OERC Secretary and Director Dr Priyabrata Patnaik said at a press conference that the committee has decided to waive the cost of Rs 60 for smart meters, which is for consumers, with its connecting load up to 2 kW. The decision is expected to benefit more than 8 million consumers across the state.
To encourage digital transactions, OERC will also continue to provide a 4% rebate on electricity bills paid through online platforms.
Electricity price rate for domestic consumers (2025-26):
– Maximum 50 units: Rs 2.90 per unit
-51–200 units: Rs 4.70 per unit
-201–400 units: Rs 5.70 per unit
– Over 400 units: Rs 6.10 per unit
This decision is to reduce the relief of the household and ensure stable electricity costs without additional financial burdens.
