“In the afternoon, the union education minister must clarify the claims of Maharashtra CM on third languages”

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to clarify whether the coalition government supports Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that there is no other language be forced in Maharashtra state except Malati.
In an article on X.com, Mr Stalin said that Maharashtra Fadnavis’s claim was “a clear manifestation of his fear of his broad condemnation of Hindi for non-Indian languages”.
“The Prime Minister and the Minister of Education of the Union must clarify: Is the Union Government formally recognizing his position, and is the third language other than Marathi a third language under the national education policy?
He further asked: “Will the Alliance Government issue Rs 21,52 crore for Tamil Nadu on the premise that the state must recognize the teaching of mandatory third languages?”
