The news comes on April 22, amid rising tensions with Pakistan amid the backdrop of tragic horror incidents, when 26 people died near Baisaran Meadow, a popular tourist destination for Jamu and Kashmir Pahalgam. The attack marks one of the deadliest attacks in the region since the 2019 Pulwama attack, killing 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawan.
