India bans imports from Pakistan, access to tough moves after Pahalgam attack – Economic Times Video

The Indian government took strong retaliatory steps on May 3 amid aggravated tensions in India and Pakistan. According to a notice issued by the Ministry of Commerce, India has immediately banned the import of Pakistan directly and indirectly from Pakistan. The State Administration for Foreign Affairs (DGFT) said the restrictions were implemented for “national security and public policy.” Any exception to this ban will require prior approval from the Indian government. The move added a series of countermeasures following the terrorist attack on Pahalgam in J&K, with 26 people killed. These include suspending the Indian Water Treaty, closing the comprehensive checkpoints in Attari and deciding to reduce the intensity of high commissions
