Coal India Limited awards work to the Department of Hematology at Vellore College of Christian Medicine (CMC)
The award is part of the Thalassexemia Bal Sewa Yojana (TBSY) program at CIL, presented by Coal and Mining Minister G. Kishan Reddy to senior social worker Gomathi Joseph in the department, recently presented the team at an event in New Delhi.
The award is titled “Gifts of Life by Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojana”, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of CIL, a program designed to support children with impoverished children with thalassexy.
Under the program, up to 208 children underwent life-saving transplants at CMC to mark World Tarecia Day.
The release added that CMC Director Vikram Mathews appreciated the Department of Hematology’s efforts to ensure the award.
