India informs Iran of Pakistan’s links to Pahalgam terrorist attacks; Tehran condemns terrorism | Indian News

India and Iran held their 20th meeting at the Joint Commission Meeting (JCM), New Delhi announced to Tehran the connections of Pakistan to the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, in which 26 civilians were killed. Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi came to India after visiting Pakistan and meeting with Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, President Droupadi Murmu and NSA Ajit Doval. This is Dr. Aragic’s first visit to India since he served as Iran’s Foreign Minister in August 2024.

The Joint Committee meeting was held on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the signing of the India-Iran Friendship Treaty, examining issues of common interests between the two countries in strengthening bilateral relations. “During the JCM period, the two sides reviewed the entire bilateral relationship, including cooperation on trade and economic issues, agriculture, health care, cultural exchanges, connectivity and relationships between people,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India.

MEA said that mutually beneficial regional and global developments were also discussed. “India briefed the Iranian delegation on cross-border links of recent terrorist attacks in Pahargam, Jamu and Kashmir. Both sides strongly condemn terrorism in all forms and manifestations and call for strengthening regional cooperation to combat the threat.”

The Ministry further stated that both sides welcome Moss’ signing and enforcement of bilateral agreements on customs cooperation in the medical product regulations. “Both sides agreed to adopt a humanitarian approach to addressing issues concerning prisoners, fishermen, seafarers and students and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in multilateral Fora.
