India is amazing in space, definitely back to my father’s homeland: NASA astronaut Sunita Williams | Science & Environment News

New York: India is amazing in space, said NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, who expressed optimism that she will visit her “father’s homeland” and share experiences about space exploration with people there. Sunita made the remarks at a press conference on Monday. She is answering a question about India’s appearance from space when it’s on the International Space Station and is likely to work with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on space exploration.

“India is amazing. Every time we browse the Himalayas, I will tell you that Butch will get some incredible photos of the Himalayas. It’s amazing,” Sunita said. The 59-year-old NASA astronaut and astronaut Butch Wilmore, who was stranded in space for more than nine months at his first joint press conference since returning to Earth, addressed journalists as part of SpaceX Crew-9 Mission.

“And, like I described earlier, like this ripple that happens, obviously when the plates collide and then flow into India. It’s a lot of color,” she said. “I think when you come from the east to Gujarat and Mumbai, the fishing fleet in the coastal areas gave you some beacons, we came here and then throughout India, my impression was that my impression was like a smaller city, in a smaller city, a smaller city. The frontier went into India,” she said.

Sunita added: “I hope, I think, I will go back to my father’s homeland, visit with people and be excited about the first or not the first, but Indian nationals are attending the Axiom Mission, which is amazing,” she said. She made these remarks when she mentioned the Axiom Mission 4 (AX-4) commercial astronaut mission of the International Space Station, including the Indian mission pilot Shubhanshu Shukla.

Lucknow-born Shukla will be India’s second astronaut after former Indian Air Force officer Rakesh Sharma to go to space since 1984. “They’ll have a hometown hero there of their own that will be able to talk about how wonderful the International Space Station is from his perspective. But I hope I can meet up at some point in time, and we can share our experiences with as many people in India as possible, because it’s a great country, another wonderful democracy that’s trying to put its foot in space country, we’d be happy to be a part of it and help them,” she said.

Sunita’s father, Deepak Pandya, praised from Gujarat and came to the United States in 1958, where he conducted internships and residency training in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born in Ohio, Deepak and Ursuline Bonnie Pandya. When Wilmore asked Sunita if she planned to take her crew to travel to India with her, she smiled and replied: “Absolutely. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Sunita and her nine members when he returned to Earth after extending the mission to the International Space Station, saying their unwavering determination will inspire millions forever.

“Welcome back, Crew9! Earth misses you,” Modi said in an article published by X. Nasa astronauts Sunita, Nick Hague and Wilmore, and Roscosmos Cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. For Sunita and Wilmore, test pilots of Boeing’s new Starliner Capsule, a series of helium leaks and thruster failures, deemed their spacecraft unsafe, an eight-day mission that has been extended to more than nine months. The spacecraft did not return in September.

“Their tests are a test of courage, courage and the infinite human spirit. Sunita Williams and #Crew9 astronauts show us again what perseverance really means. Their unwavering determination to face the vast unknown will inspire millions forever,” Modi said. He once said that space exploration is about pushing the limits of human potential, daring to dream, and having the courage to turn these dreams into reality. “The pioneer and idol Sunita Williams has illustrated this for this spirit throughout her career,” said the prime minister. “We are very proud of all those who work tirelessly to ensure their safe rewards. They have demonstrated what happens when precision reaches a situation where the technology reaches a situation where the technology reaches a situation where the resilience is.”
