Instagram launches hybrid, new personalized reel sharing feature, users can join it by…know how it works

Instagram upgrades its app by launching a new feature that allows users to personalize their reels. Blend allows users to share custom reel feeds with friends, one-on-one and group chats. However, the new feature cannot be accessed by everyone, but only through invitations. Meta, the parent company of Instagram, is seeking major user engagement and matching evolving user preferences in the uncertainty surrounding Tik-Tok in the United States.

New features of Instagram blends

The social media platform allows users to share reels with friends, creating a shared space that allows people to enjoy tailor-made content together while having personal chats. Users can choose fresh and tailor-made videos that they share every day. Recommended reels were also shared among these selected people, and the personalized feeds were updated daily.

In addition, users can see that these reels and videos are currently not featured in their recommendation systems. This is possible because their friends like these reels and the system can detect that it can also be shared with the user.

How to use Instagram blend?

Step 1: First open the Private or Group DM and then click the Blending icon at the top of the screen.

Step 2: After tapping, click Invite to allow people in the chat to join. Your mixture will only activate if at least one person accepts your invitation.

Step 3: After someone accepts your invitation, you will automatically start planning a collection of curated reels that are customized to the taste of the members in the chat.

Step 4: If you have some interaction with the reel, click, like, or share, you will receive an Instagram notification that will allow conversations on the reel in the chat group. After the feed is created, the user can access the mix icon again at any time in the chat group.

Step 5: After trying few trials, the user can turn off this feature. Open the app and click the message icon. Choose a chat from where you like to leave. After opening the chat, click the Blend Icon, then click the three dots in the upper right corner again, and select Leave this mixture. This way, users will be deleted from the shared reel feed for a specific chat.
