Singaporeni plans to mine 16 million tons of coal in the first quarter of the current fiscal

Singaporeni Collies Company Ltd (SCCL) has a moderate target for mining 16 million tons of coal in the first quarter of 2025-26. It also decided to hand over management of OpenCast and underground mines to senior executives, starting with a transition purely with female workers.
At a meeting with Hyderabad on Saturday, the chairman and managing director of coal company N. Balaram said it was decided to remove at least 120 million cubic meters of excess between April and June.
According to company officials, the company mined 16.71 million tons of coal in the first quarter of 2024-25 and 17.1 million tons in 2023-24. The total output achieved in 2024-25 was 69 million tons, compared with 70 million tons a year ago.
In April (2025-26), the company can dig coal and 5.81 million tons of coal and 5.48 million tons and 5.66 million tons in 2024-25 respectively. CMD said coal shipments rose 2.7% in April this year compared to April 2024.
Similarly, the amount of cover removal in April was 10.6% higher than in April, as the 40 million cubic meters of coverage was removed this year, while the 36.18 million cubic meters in April last year were removed.
He directed the authorities to select the supervisors required to select the Naini coal block in Orissa and planned to locate it there within a month. He also hopes that authorities will release most of the new employees in underground mines.
He warned authorities not to compromise on the quality of the coal sent, indicating that it will affect sales and expel consumers.
