Ramados urges TN government to send vulnerable students to private schools under RTE bill, issuing notice

S. Ramadoss, founder of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), urged the state government on Saturday to issue an immediate notice and begin enrolling children from vulnerable classes to private schools as part of the 25% quota retained for them in 2009.

He pointed out in a statement that the notice has not been issued yet. The cost of children recognized in this category will be borne by the government. “Since the summer vacation has begun, the notices in the prescribed quota can be condemned to be issued,” he said.

Under the RTE Act, admission notices for private schools are usually issued in March and applications are collected in April. The selection process will be completed in May to ensure that the entire admission process is completed by June (usually before the school reopens). Dr Ramados said: “However, there are rumors that the government may decide to stop free education in private schools under the RTE Act. The Tamil Nadu government has a responsibility to resolve and eliminate these questions.”

Admission under the RTE quota of Kendriya Vidyalaya School was completed two weeks ago. Similarly, the Tamil Nadu government should speed up the RTE admission process for private schools across the state. He added that the government must immediately issue a notice and begin accepting applications.
