India plans to close Pakistan flight space amid rising tensions

Pakistan uses Indian airspace to send its flights to cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Urumqi in China and other countries.

Pakistan suspended its airspace in India following the Pahargham terrorist attacks in Jamu and Kashmir. Now, India is also preparing to close Pakistan’s airspace. This is called India’s aviation strike against Pakistan. In addition, Pakistan’s entry into Indian waters will also be stopped. As a result, maritime trade in Pakistan will become many times more expensive.

Pakistan uses Indian space to send its flights to cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Urumqi in the east. This is the busiest route in Pakistan. In addition, Pakistan uses Indian space to travel to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. The Pakistan flights are flying to Sri Lanka, and the Maldives use Indian airspace toward the south.

Today, India’s neighbors are getting closer to Bangladesh. But to fly to Bangladesh, Pakistan must use Indian airspace. But if India closes space for Pakistan, which is very important, then Pakistan will have to find a new route. Pakistan has the option to cross the Arabian Sea from Afghanistan using Iranian or Omani airspace. Through this, it can reach Southeast Asia, under the rule of Sri Lanka. This means that people and air transport from Pakistan can go to Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Pakistan can choose not to use Indian airspace, but it will be so expensive that Pakistan’s airlines will stagnate. Therefore, Pakistan will have to spend more distance, more time and fuel.
