India wins gold, silver and bronze medals in Archery World Cup 2

Shanghai: India’s second phase of Archery World Cup in Shanghai won three medals in the large men’s team competition, including gold in the women’s team competition and bronze in the mixed team competition on Saturday.

The men’s team, composed of Abhishek Verma, Ojas Deotale and Rishabh Yadav, beat Mexico 232-228 in the final. The Indian trio consistently shot in all four aspects and kept their nerves in order to win a well-deserved gold medal.

In the women’s comprehensive final, the teams of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Madhura Dhamangaonkar and Chikitha Taniparthi settled in the silver medal after losing to the strong Mexican side 221-234. It was a one-sided match, but the Indian women showed hope throughout the match and ended with a podium.

Adding to the medals, the Indian comprehensive team Verma and Madhura won the bronze championship, defeating Malaysia in the third playoffs with low scores.

These results underscore India’s growing depth and consistency on compound archery on the world stage.

With compound archery making its Olympic debut in Los Angeles 2028 and having loneliness in the hybrid team category, India will focus on its first Olympic medal on archery, and performances like this offer a lot of hope.
