Joint cabinet approved Rs 6,839 CR second round of vibrant village plan international land border

The Centre’s fully funded central department plans to operate from 2024-25 to 2028-29 fiscal years.
The plan will cater to villages adjacent to international land borders beyond international land borders, which were previously covered in the first phase of the plan.
The focus will be on select strategic villages in 15 states and union territories, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Jamu and Kashmir, Manipur and West Bengal.
According to the government, the main goals of the plan include creating better living conditions and adequate livelihood opportunities for residents, ensuring safe and prosperous borders, and curbing cross-border crime.
Key components of VVP-II include infrastructure development, enhancing the enhancement of value chains through cooperatives and self-help groups, and the establishment of educational facilities such as smart classrooms. In addition, the program will support the development of the Tourism Tour and diversified livelihood opportunities that are sustainable and tailored to the unique needs of border communities.
