Indian Embassy warns illegal immigrants to be deported

Hyderabad: The U.S. Embassy in India issued a warning that any immigrant who stays in the United States outside of authorized time can be deported or permanently prohibited from re-entering the United States. In social media posts, the embassy reiterated U.S. President Donald Trump’s position on illegal immigrants living in the United States.

“If you stay in the U.S. outside the authorization period, you may be deported and may permanently ban traveling to the U.S. in the future,” the post reads.

The Trump administration has been hit hard by the U.S. Supreme Court and the national federal district court. The Supreme Court upheld its decision on Friday to prevent President Trump from expelling Venezuelan immigrants under the 1798 law, historically only used in wartime.

Along with the Supreme Court, the federal district court also ruled an order against Trump. A South Dakota federal court judge awarded Indian PhD graduate Priya Saxena, whose visa was fired for a 2021 traffic violation.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) terminated Saxner’s visa and deleted her Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS) record in April because of no cessation of emergency vehicles in 2021. Since her Sevis record was deleted, she could no longer receive education.

Saxena filed a wrong termination against ICE and the Department of Homeland Security, and the court temporarily restricted the order to allow her to graduate on May 10.
