Distributed Brodipet Rob’s extended compensation inspection; union minister urges cooperation to be completed in a timely manner

In a step towards rebuilding the extended Brodypet Railway (ROB) compensation check, store owners were distributed Monday (April 21) to store owners who agreed to separate from the land for the project.

The checks were handed over here at an event held in the Council Hall of the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) office. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of Rural Development and Communications of the Trade Union, handed over the compensation check. GMC will provide store owners with TDR bonds to lose their land.

During this period, he stressed the need for public cooperation and urged opposition parties and intellectuals to expand support to municipalities and state governments to complete a long infrastructure project. He added that the central government has approved funds for the project and the work will begin within a few weeks.

“The existing bridges are in a dilapidated state and cannot meet the growing traffic demand in the city of Gontur. The project is crucial for the city’s development,” Dr. Penmasani said.

Reflecting on the history of another similar project in the city, he noted that Nandivelugu Rob was approved in 2014 and there was no progress until 2017. However, the subsequent YSRCP government pushed the project toward the cold storage. “This crucial Brodipee project was revived only after the new coalition government came to power,” he said, calling Rob a “symbol that the work of infrastructure would take long to achieve without political will.”

The minister also spoke about public concerns and accused certain groups of priorities of friction (railways under the bridge) before Rob. He clarified that building a deep pit for friction pillars would compromise Rob’s structural safety, making continuous construction technically unfeasible.

“We have taken their advice seriously and even interacted with them many times. However, the advice they made was covered by the overpass than the appropriate railway.” “It seems that there is an intention to try to stop the project, but the bridge will not stop for anyone.”

The new bridge was once proposed to use 430 meters, but will now be extended by 900 meters and aimed at meeting urban needs over the next 50 years, with a wider 90 meters span to improve traffic flow. “It’s a project for the people. Once it’s done, everyone will see its utility. Let’s not object to what benefits the public,” Dr. Penmasani appealed.

The event was composed of Mlas Mohammad Naseer Ahmad, Galla Madhavi and B. Ramanjaneyulu, as well as regional collector S.
