Indian state was stabbed to death in Canada; a suspect was detained

Indian missionary in the country said an Indian national was stabbed to death near the city of Ottawa, Canada, and police have detained a suspect.

The Indian high commissioner in Ottawa, Canada, said the incident occurred in Rockland. It does not identify victims.

The High Commissioner posted on X on Friday.

“We are closely connected through local community associations to provide all possible assistance to bereavement relatives,” it said.

According to CTV News, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said a shooting occurred near Larond Street in Rockland before 3 p.m. Friday.

The location is about 40 kilometers east of downtown Ottawa.

The report said police have not said what the charges were for the detainees.

OPP said it does not care about public safety.

“Since we are in the early stages of our investigation, there is no other information available,” CTV News said.
