Indians call for boycott of Türkiye and Azerbaijan

Thousands of Indians have called for boycotting the growing tensions between India and Pakistan to resist travel to Türkiye and Azerbaijan, and reported that the two countries expressed support for Pakistan.“Tourism is an option. So is dignity,” read a widely shared post on social media, while another article said: “2.4 million Indians travel to Azerbaijan and 3.3 million Indians travel to Turkey in 2024. Why fund allies in Pakistan?
Kesari Tours director Himanshu Patil and president of the Outbound Tourism Operators Association of India (OTOAI) said the inquiry has started from travelers who are considering canceling plans to go to their destinations.
“Both countries are very popular. Developments will affect bookings in both countries. They should. Travel is my business, but people are right to think in this way.”

“Today, the morale of the country is so high that everyone is firmly standing in our armed forces. If in this case a country is supporting our enemies, it means they are fighting against us. I ask a friend who should go to Turkey on May 14 to stick to her plan. Unfortunately, these countries are unfortunately with Pakistan, he added,” he added. ”

Siddharth Bakaria, founder of Goa Villas, is an online platform that shows holiday rentals and alternative accommodation options in Goa and owns 117 listed properties, said he has decided not to provide any accommodation for Turkish citizens. Bakaria, who is also the founder of Go Homestays, also offers travel packages, including flight bookings in overseas countries, said he officially ended his partnership with Turkish Airlines due to their unsupportive stance on India. He added: “Pakistan attacked India many times and most countries are supporting us. Turkey openly supports Pakistan. We stand with our country. We are unwilling to provide any accommodation for Turkish citizens in Goa.” Azerbaijan made a separate statement in support of Pakistan.

Both countries have gained considerable appeal from India and have better air connectivity as well as marketing and promotions. The Turkiye Tourism Commission said earlier this year that it welcomed 62.2 million global tourists last year, and the Indian market grew by 20.7%. The board said in the Indian market: “This surge can be attributed to the air connectivity between major Indian cities and Turkish destinations, the growing popularity of Indian wedding planners and mouse organizers, and the board’s “strategic” marketing plan in the Indian market also plays a “critical” goal.

According to reports, in January this year, the number of Indian tourists in Azerbaijan increased considerably and doubled its Indian tourists to 243,000 last year. More than 17,000 Indian tourists visited Azerbaijan in January, with the highest figures for the month compared to previous years: Indians call for boycotts of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, tensions with Pakistan escalate
