WAQF Meets “Cong Creates Turbulent Plot”: Bandi Sanjay

Hyderabad: The meeting was held by AIMIM head Asaduddin Owaisi and the All-Indian Muslim Individual Law Commission (AIMPLB) in Darussalam on Saturday, a congressional sponsored program designed to spark unrest, allegedly Congress Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar. He warned that the state could fall into chaos, similar to parts of Merhidabad and West Bengal, and put the Congressional government accountable for any such situation.
At a press conference here, the minister claimed that protesting under the guise of opposing the WAQF Act was part of a larger conspiracy to create legal and order harassment.
He cited official figures, saying that of the 77,000 acres of WAQF land in Telangana, only 16,000 acres (about 20%) are under the control of Daji and the Mosque. He asked: “Who controls the rest,” accusing the Owaisi Brothers of encroaching on a large amount of WAQF land to run hospitals, schools and offices, denied the share of poor Muslims.
He challenged the government to release a white paper detailing WAQF income, its utilization and whether it reaches poverty and Pasmada Muslim communities. He complained: “Telangana’s WAQF land is worth over Rs 5 lakh, but there is no transparency on how much income or income spent.”
Sanjay said that various courts are hearing more than 4,000 WAQF-related cases. He accused the former BRS regime of Dharani Portal of all ownership titles exceeding thousands of acres of WAQF land.
In defending the investigation into the National Herald case, he said the conspiracy to obtain the assets of the document through a young Indian Trust fund was discovered in 2012 before the BJP came to power. “The court issued a notice in 2013 and ordered a CBI investigation. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were defendants in the case and have been released on bail,” he said.
Sanjay said more than 5,000 freedom fighters and congressional workers were stakeholders in the National Herald and questioned why congressional leaders protested outside the law enforcement bureau rather than Sonia Gandhi’s residence. He asked: “How does the BJP be responsible for the actions ordered by the court.”
He also criticized former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav and others for using abusive language against BJP leaders in recent protests and questioned attempts to link BJP leaders, including Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, to what he calls independent judicial proceedings.
