India’s tea export contacts are 254.67 million kilograms in 2024: tea board

India’s tea exports reached 254.6 million kilograms between January 2024 and December 2024, lifting the country to third place in the world in beverage exports, a statement from the Indian Tea Committee said. The total value of tea exports in 2024 was Rs 711.143 crore, reflecting a significant increase over the previous year.
In terms of regional contribution, North India led the export of 154.81 million kg, with a value of Rs 48,331.2 crore.
South India exported 99.86 million kilograms and earned 227.831 crore rupees.
The statement said North India’s share was 60.79% with a value of 66.96%, while South India’s number was 39.21% with a value of 32.04%.
The Tea Committee, under the responsibilities of the Trade Union and Ministry of Industry, promotes the cultivation, manufacturing and marketing of tea nationwide.
The statement added that India’s tea exports in 2023 totaled 231.69 million kilograms.
