Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has transferred the former Gratia of Rs 505 crore to the families of 23,162 workers of “Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana”, saying his government has been continuing to empower workers in businesses across the state.
Speaking to the National Secretariat on Friday (29 March 2025), Mr Yadav said that the performance and platform staff were also taken under Sambal Yojana after the initiative of Niti Aayog, and their registration was underway.
“They are now eligible for the same benefits as traditional workers. Beneficiaries can also get ration cards for subsidized foods under state and central government programs,” he said.
“Sambal Yojana is an important welfare program for workers in the unorganized sector,” the Chief Minister said.
Under the scheme, in the case of accidental deaths, the ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh was provided to the working family, with natural deaths of Rs 2 lakh, permanently disabled people at Rs 2 lakh and partially disabled people at Rs 1 lakh, touching Rs 5,000 as funeral aid.
According to officials, female workers also received Rs 16,000 in maternity assistance, while children of registered workers were given full tuition coverage under the Higher Education Promotion Scheme.

Ayushman Bharat Niramayam Yojana also covers beneficiaries, which provides Rs 5 lakh for annual free medical care.
Officials said the state government has registered 1.74 billion workers under the plan since its launch on April 1, 2018.
To date, the Ministry of Labor has provided benefits worth over Rs 59,27 crore for more than 658,000 cases. They added that the registration process is underway, ensuring ongoing support for workers across the state.
