Infosys layoffs: It lays off 195 cadets in Mysuru; nearly 250 choose Upgrad, NIIT UPSKILLING program
Infosys layoffs: After recruits failed to clear the internal assessment, it was reported MoneyControl Report cited by an email date of April 29.

On February 7, 2025, the news portal reported that the IT major’s assessment test failed to pass 400 campus recruits. It was reported that late April 18, the company ruled that it could not clear the internal assessment of 240 other entry-level employees.
According to the news portal, this is the fourth round of layoffs for Infosys since February 2025, bringing the total number of job layoffs to 800.
Infosys refuses to confirm these developments livemint. However, the news portal report shows that so far, Infosys insists that the company has followed its existing policy that requires freshmen to be unable to continue to be related to the organization in the event of an internal assessment failure.
Affected trainees join NIIT’s Upgrad
According to reports, 250 of approximately 800 people participated in Upgrad and Niit’s high-skill schemes after India’s second largest IT company ruled new employees. At the same time, 150 of them have registered to exit the service, according to the news portal.
According to the report, the company has formed a partnership with Upgrad, a BPM training, and another has trained with NIIT. These training programs are free for those affected by layoffs.
Infosys is also willing to pay for affected individuals to pay for potential roles in Infosys Business Process Management (BPM). According to news reports, the trainees were allegedly boarded after being delayed by more than 2.5 years.
According to the report, the IT major will also provide one-month payment to affected trainees and provide mitigation letters to affected trainees. The report said those affected will receive transportation from Mysoru to Bangalore, as well as standard travel allowances to their hometowns.
Infosys Jobs
Following the January-March quarter results announcement, Infosys’ chief financial officer Jayesh Sanghrajka revealed that IT mainly plans to hire more than 20,000 freshmen in the 2025-26 fiscal year.
“In terms of recruitment, we want to hire more than 20,000 freshmen,” Sanghrajka said in a media briefing.
The company currently employs more than 323,000 professionals, and its fourth-quarter results also show growth for 199 employees.
