Install sun hanging fences to curb Chalakudy’s wildlife attack

According to Forests and Wildlife AK Saseedaran, the government is taking various initiatives aimed at coexistence of forests, wildlife and humanity.
The minister spoke after building a solar-suspended fence in Chalakudy on Thursday. The project, implemented by the Ministry of Forests and Wildlife in collaboration with Nabard, involves the installation of solar suspended fences along Chalakudy River, extending 18 km from Virippara to Kannan Kuzhi Thodu at a cost of 2.24 Crore.
A solar suspension fence of approximately 80 km will be installed on the Chalakudy-Vazhachal department. This will be the first time in Kerala, where solar energy is suspended over such a long distance.
The minister also added that this time the government prioritizes projects aimed at ensuring water conservation within the forest.
The inaugural ceremony of the project was held in the Arurmuzhi Community Hall and was hosted by Chalakudy MLA Sanish Kumar Joseph.
