“Insult” Karnataka people to singer Sonu Nigam

After the complaint was registered, Awarahali police conducted FIR registration of singer Sonu Nigam, claiming that he insulted the people of Karnataka.

According to a complaint by Dharma Raj, members of Karnataka Rakshana vedike, police accused Mr Nigam of criminal intimidation, public mischief and intentional insults to provoke the violation of peace on Saturday.

According to the complaint, Mr Nigam performed in the suburbs of the city on April 25. One of the fans asked him to sing the Kannada song of his offensive and retorted that it was the attitude that led to the attack on Pahargam. “That's why the Pahalgam attack happened. For this attitude. At least before making this request, please see who is in front of you. I don't like it (the way he asked).”

The complainant claimed that the incident caused deep pain to his local fans, whose actions were insulted and offensive. The complaint said the bill also led to hatred among different communities as the incident became popular on social media.

Police are now seeking details of the incident and will call organizers for interrogation.

“I was threatened by 4-5 thugs”

Meanwhile, Mr Nigam responded to Saturday’s controversy and said he was “threatened by four to five thugs” at the concert. “People in the crowd even told them not to bother with the concert,” he said in the video. Instagram account.

The singer said a few people have been asking for Kannada songs from the very beginning. “My show hasn't even started yet, and these guys looked at me rudely and asked me to sing Kannada songs. No artist should allow his/her listeners to threaten him or her.”

Mr Nigam also spoke about his comments on the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which made fans angry. “We need to remind these people that in Pahargam people didn’t ask their language before they were killed.”

He added that he had no hatred for Canadigas. “They are very lovely people. I bring a set of Kannada songs at every concert.”

Mr Nigam is one of the most popular singers in the Kannada film industry after the success of the film in 2006 Mungaru Male. He sings role models in the movie Galipata (2008), Mirana (2007), Sanju Weds Geetha 2 (2011) and so on.
