iOS 18.4 error causes deleted iPhone apps to reappear: Report

Apple’s recent iOS 18.4 update has caused deleted apps to reappear on certain iPhones.

According to a Macrumors report, some users on Reddit and Apple’s community support pages have installed iOS 18.4 on their iPhones, and the report found that third-party apps or games were installed on the iPhone, while iPhones had iPhones installed on the iPhone.

“After upgrading to iOS 18.4, my iPhone randomly installed “Last War Survival”. This app was previously installed on my iPhone a few months ago, but it was uninstalled a few hours later. Now it’s back to my home screen. Many users reported the same app on different apps,” reporting a user on Apple Support Community Page.

According to the report, the iOS 18.4 update shows an error that is causing the app (deleted a few months ago) to reappear on the iPhone. The report further says it doesn’t seem to be related to Apple’s automatic download options.

However, it is not clear whether it affects only a small percentage of users. Currently, the only solution for affected users is to delete the reappearing app.
