IPL 2025: BCCI meets today to discuss options for resuming the game after a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan

BCCI plans to hold a meeting on Sunday to discuss possible options to resume Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement on Saturday. BCCI earlier announced the league’s week-long suspension, and tensions escalated in Pakistan as Indian military operations operated by Sindoor.
“With new developments in the ceasefire, BCCI, IPL Council, office holders and officials will meet tomorrow to discuss the situation,” said Rajeev Shukla, vice president of BCCI.
He added: “We will review the schedule of the game and determine the best way to complete the game. The venues that were initially decided during the conflict will be reconsidered… The final decision will be made soon.”

Earlier, BCCI explored the possibility of hosting the rest of the IPL in southern cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. “It’s an option for war, a South India option. There are a lot of options being discussed, but now a ceasefire is announced. Give us some time and we’ll be discussing with other office holders and management officials and only then will the decision be made.”
Earlier reports suggest that the Indian cricket board is eager to hold an IPL in May as India will travel to England on June 20 to conduct a five-game Test series. Players, most of them have left their home country or are returning.
In the game, there are 12 league championship games and four playoff games that have not been played yet.
