The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will resume on Saturday, May 17, as cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan ceased for more than a week. IPL 2025 will be in high pressure race between Royal Challenger Bengaluru (RCB) and three-time champions, Kolkata Cavaliers (KKR), at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, there is a high possibility that it may not be possible to follow the planned plan, as heavy rain is expected to damage on Saturday.

Will it rain in the RCB vs. KKR match?

There are some weather reports claiming that Bangalore will witness dark clouds and several heavy showers. Speaking of Saturday, heavy thunderstorms are also expected to occur at night, with nearly 8mm of rain expected during the RCB vs KKR match. According to Accuweather, Bengaluru can witness rainfall for nearly 2 hours during the game.

The importance of RCB vs. KKR match

This upcoming match is very important for Ajinkya Rahane-led Kolkata side because it is a must-win match for them. If the game is eliminated due to rain, the defending champion will be automatically eliminated from the playoff game.

On the other hand, if the match is cancelled due to such weather conditions, the Bangalore side will be greatly affected as they are currently sitting in the second position with 16 points in 11 matches. However, they will want to get the game and secure the position in the next round.

However, if the rain doesn’t affect the game too much and stops in a few minutes, the drainage system of M Chinnaswamy Stadium (one of the best in the world) will be there to resume the game as soon as possible.
