IPL or PSL? Pakistani star Pacer Mohammad Amir reveals his first-choice league next year

Amir is preparing to represent Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming 10th edition of the PSL, planning a campaign against Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi on April 12.

Star Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir expressed interest in playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year, provided he gained British citizenship before the start of the Pakistan Premier League season 10. Although this season is crucial to Quetta’s role, Amir’s candid comments have sparked discussions from fans and experts.

In an interview, when asked if he would choose an IPL or PSL game that overlaps next year, Amir honestly admitted that he would prefer the IPL if he had the chance. His decision is based on IPL’s broader appeal and profitable financial returns as it is widely regarded as the most competitive T20 alliance in the world.

Amir’s potential participation in the IPL depends on his ability to obtain British citizenship, which will determine whether he can register a local or overseas player under the league’s rules.

If PSL occurs in the same window as IPL and as a British citizen you are eligible for IPL, would you choose IPL? ” Amir was asked.

“Honestly, if I had the chance, I would definitely be in the IPL. I would say that publicly. But if I didn’t have the chance, I would be in the PSL,” Amir said.

He also expressed his hope to join forces with Royal Challenger Bangalore team with Virat Kohli. No Pakistani players have participated in the IPL since 2008, mainly due to ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan.

The six teams are scheduled to be played on May 18, with the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore planning to host the knockout and finals. Tonight’s opening match will face to face with Islamabad United against Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and promise an exciting match.
