Police arrested Malayalam film actor Shine Tom Chacko on Saturday in connection with the drug case. His arrest was recorded in about four hours of trial, where he allegedly fled a hotel in Kochi in a drug attack. Police said he was booked under Section 27 (Consumption of any anesthetic drugs or psychotropic substances) and the Anesthetic Drugs and Psychotropic Drugs (NDPS) Act (NDPS) 29 (Teaching Bet and Criminal Conspiracy).
Police added that medical examinations and further litigation will be underway soon.
On Saturday, Chacko appeared before Kochi City Police in response to a formal notice from the police.
Police added that on Wednesday night, Shine escaped from his third-floor room after realizing that the Dansaf team arrived, jumped out of the window, covered the second floor and escaped the stairs.
