San Francisco: Openai fought back against Elon Musk on Wednesday, citing a harassment model by Musk and asked a federal judge to block any “further illegal and unfair actions” against Openai in court cases to help the company’s future structure to help launch the AI revolution.
Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman co-founded OpenAI in 2015, but Musk left before the company became a tech star. Recently, Musk continued to create his own AI company XAI in 2023, trying to stop Chatgpt Maker from transitioning to a for-profit model, ultimately in the current court case. To enable OpenAI to secure the entire $40 billion current fundraising round, the company must complete the transition by the end of the year.
“Through the news attack, the malicious campaign broadcasts Musk’s more than 200 million followers on social media platforms he controls, excuses for company records, harassment legal claims and false bidding for OpenAI’s assets, Musk has tried all the tools available to harm OpenAI,” the company involved in the OpenAI lawsuit in Musk’s existing lawsuit in Upai for Northern Neart in the Northern Region.
Openai asked the judge to stop Musk from conducting further further attacks and to “responsible for the damage he has caused.”
The jury trial will begin next spring.
In response, Musk’s legal team mentioned a $97.4 billion takeover bid offered by a consortium led by Musk earlier this year, which rejected. “If Openai’s board of directors really considers bidding because they are obliged to do so, they will see how serious it is.”
“Elon’s uninterrupted action on us is just a bad strategy to slow down and seize control of leading AI innovations in his personal interests,” Openai said in an article on Musk-owned social media platform.
Musk acquired X last month, a deal that values the $33 billion of social media companies and allows its AI company’s value to be shared with co-investors in X.
Last year, Musk, who was also the CEO of electric car maker Tesla, sued Openai and Altman, accusing Openai of wandering from its founding mission – developing AI for the benefit of humanity rather than corporate profits. Musk did not respond to a request for comment on the OpenAI application.
Openai and Altman denied the allegations, while Altman claimed Musk had been trying to slow down his competitors.
The danger in the lawsuit is Chatgpt Maker’s transition to a for-profit model, which the startup says is essential to raising more capital and competing in expensive AI races.
